BVK STATISTICS EUROPE
The European private equity market figures are compiled by European industry association Invest Europe and based on the pan-European statistics platform European Data Cooperative (EDC), a non-commercial joint project implemented by Europe’s key private equity associations: AIFI (Italy), ASCRI (Spain), BVA (Belgium), BVCA (Bulgaria), BVCA (UK), BVK (Germany), CVCA (Czech Republic), DVCA (Denmark), France Invest (France), FVCA (Finland), LPEA (Luxembourg), NVCA (Norway), NVP (Netherlands), PSIK (Poland), SECA (Switzerland), SEEPEA (Romania and Bulgaria), SVCA (Sweden) and Invest Europe (Europe).
The aim of the EDC is to collect and evaluate private equity market data in a standardised manner across Europe. The EDC is the single data entry point for members of the associations involved and other market participants. It uses standardised methodology and therefore provides consistent, robust, comparable market data for the different regions in Europe. The EDC contains data from 4,000 private equity firms, 10,900 funds, 86,700 portfolio companies and 330,900 transactions.
